Summary: Tricky to get to but beautiful! Note: NO AIR CONDITIONERS. Unforgettable for a first trip to Ischia. Despite the name this hotel is NOT in Sant Angelo it is properly in Maronti. To get there you can drive up to the Maronti and then its *pedestrian only* to the hotel down a set of stairs then on thin boardwalk, sidewalk cement, and a few stair steps. It’s a 10 min walk— perfectly lovely without luggage but a bit of a pain with it. So just know that! Once you’re there, it’s perfectly secluded with the beach right down the steps and beach chairs. The water is perfect. Down the steps a water taxi stops and it’s 5€ to Sant Angelo, which is amazing and the other best spot of the island. The water taxi can also take you to the Maronti entrance for 3€. From the Ischia port take the number 5 bus to Maronti to save on taxi. It’s 30 mins or so. The hotel manager is a GEM as other reviewers have said. We missed that there was no AC so that was a bit hard in mid July but honestly with a sea view room the breeze came in all night, we had a fan, and it does cool at night. Plus, you’ll be rocked to sleep by the sea. Magical!!

Summary: Your picture of the property is very misleading. There is no beach it’s been eroded over the years.
The sea is very rough. Impossible to swim in it there is over a 1 mile walk from dry land where the bus stops.
The walk
is treacherous with lots of rocks and rough sea that reaches your knees
I have never experienced such a terrifying example of a route to a hotel in my life
Your picture is misleading there is no beach and I have pictures ti prove it.
For two week there were thunder storms a raging sea pounding at the walls each night.
A nearby property collapsed into the sea a few years ago and the family died.
I felt very scared to stay in the hotel and could not wait to leave.
It’s a 1970 decor hotel. It was a horrendous experience. Manager sweeps dirt from each day into the sea.cleaner also .

Summary: Authentic italian hotel, old fashioned decor but adds to its charm. Very clean, friendly welcoming staff.
Not as difficult to reach as some reviews had stated, no5 bus from port to Moronti and follow the board walk down the beach about 10mins. May have to walk through the sand for part of it, so may not be for everyone but absolutely stunning location, paradise for sea lovers!
Choice of beach bars and restaurants along the beach.

Summary: This is a wonderful classic Italian beach hotel. The family that runs it is very nice and it seems as if they are working 24/7. The standard is simple but tidy. The one thing missing is air conditioning for those hot Italian nights, but there were fans. The lunch restaurant was great and the location is absolutely to die for. Talk about living on the beach. The rooms on the fourth floor have a wonderful terrace overlooking the ocean with Capri in the background. Stunning.
