Located on the second floor of the villa, in the section originally used as a farmhouse, this spacious suite features authentic rural architecture, comprising intimate and cozy spaces, reinterpreted in a contemporary style through the use of furnishings and architectural decorative elements. Access to the suite is from the east side of the villa, via a staircase crafted from ancient local marble, flanked by two hand-built brick walls that have been skillfully restored and treated with natural waxes. From the staircase, guests enter a spacious living room boasting an original 19th-century exposed roof, with glimpses of light streaming in from the hill above. Three double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a kitchen, and a study open onto the living room; through a hallway, guests can directly access the olive grove and two small private terraces. All rooms feature an exposed ceiling—original to the 19th century—constructed of chestnut beams and terracotta bricks.
The Suite’s walls are made of pure natural lime plaster with a very coarse grain, interspersed with new smooth masonry sections in natural earth tones. The floors are solid oak. The furnishings are exclusively designed. In the large living room, a steel and elm wood fireplace spans an entire wall; the furnishings are complemented by a three-seater sofa and an American-made chaise longue from the 1960s. A 1950s Venini chandelier hangs from the ceiling. All the rooms in the suite feature double-layered ceilings made of chestnut wood and terracotta bricks. An extensive restoration and consolidation project has made it possible to preserve the original structures. The suite features three double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms: the two south-facing rooms offer a beautiful view of the sea, and one—located in the corner—frames the surrounding vineyard-covered hills to the east. This room also includes a study with a sofa bed for exclusive use. Particular attention has been paid to the interior design of the bathrooms, featuring large slabs of marble from the Apuan Alps and carved marble sinks. Antique rugs and a collection of original prints from various eras complete the decor. A kettle with tea and coffee sets and cups is available for guests’ use.
