Excursions can be taken to the Poppi zoo, the Verna Sanctuary, the Camaldoli hermitage and the Casentino Forest National Park. Florence and Arezzo are 50 minutes away by car, Siena 80. From Arezzo you can take the fast train from Rome in just 1 hour and 5 minutes, so even day trips are possible. In Casalino there is a small grocery shop, where you can get snacks and an internet connection.
During the renovation of the villa in 2003, the wall decorations, wood-beamed ceilings and terracotta floors were restored to their former glory (some of which are still the original floor). The villa is partially furnished with antique furniture.
